MOST COMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (CFMS)

Three interactive database modules - Order Processing and Tracking System, Equipment/Feature Inventory and Network Information System - allow the automation of record keeping based on user needs. These three modules provide the control needed to facilitate change, keep information current, and increase productivity and efficiency. Paperwork is reduced, work hours become easier to manage, and confusion is eliminated through up-to-date reporting and tracking.

ORDER PROCESSING AND TRACKING

A totally integrated system to automate the processing and tracking of work orders and trouble reports for telecommunications departments. This system helps improve performance in processing trouble reports and work order add/move/change requests. Work orders and trouble reports are processed quickly, accurately and efficiently.

Tracking and reporting provides management control of equipment and manpower resources. Historical analysis and reporting provides critical management information regarding personnel and equipment performance. Integrated database management updates multiple files from a single trouble report or work order accurately and with minimal effort.

Work Order/Trouble Report Entry

Job Ticket Preparation

  • Features work order setup which includes:
    • Scheduling
    • Automatic pair assignment
    • Equipment availability
    • Job ticket generation
  • Prints job tickets by work classification and location for increased efficiency as well as for equipment requisition.

Trouble Report Tracking

  • Tracks trouble report from its origin through resolution.
  • Assigns urgency level to trouble reports.
  • Links work orders generated as a result of trouble reports to the historical database and automatically updates it.
  • User definable troubleshooting questions on screen allow service personnel to qualify repair requests and suggest obvious solutions to commonly reported problems.

In-Process Tracking and Reporting

  • Provides immediate access to work orders and trouble reports in process.
  • Modifies, re-schedules, and cancels work orders.
  • Produces labor projection reports on demand.
    • Flags and reports incomplete work order and trouble report data.

Historical Analysis and Reporting

  • Features Trouble Analysis Report which can be sorted by date, route, trouble code, account, extension and/or product; provides detail and summary reporting with analysis for calculating mean time between failures, mean time to resolution, and mean time to fix.
  • Offers Work Order Historical Analysis reporting by user selected fields (i.e., date, route, trouble code, account, product, dialed number, trunk number/line equipment number/circuit, frame and/or cable).

EQUIPMENT/FEATURE INVENTORY

A powerful system for inventory tracking and billing of telecommunications equipment and features. Allows multiple equipment and/or feature items to be assigned to extensions and accounts. Supports a master inventory of all available equipment from as many as 100 warehouses (repair trucks, storage rooms, etc). Assigned items may be either flat rate or prorated, recurring or one-time charges. Any type of telecommunications equipment such as telephones, beepers, fax machines, and cellular phones may be catalogued by this module.

Usage Assignment and Billing

  • Items in use are assignable by extension or billing number
  • Bills for both one-time and recurring charges
  • Enables users to assign E/F item packages when adding predefined sets of items and charges with a single entry
  • Interfaces into MOST-Phacs
  • Provides a choice of detail or summary billing by billing ID or extension number, department or division, with optional call detail.
  • Percentage adjustments can be automatically made to the summary totals and listed under a user definable header in the billing report summary.
  • Allows integration of telco tape information into billing report.

Inventory Tracking and Reporting

  • Comprehensive inquiry and reporting available by billing or extension number, warehouse or network user location, item type code, item group code, vendor, division, and department
  • Serial number and asset tag tracking
  • Tracks warranty and maintenance contracts

Item and Vendor Master Information

  • Vendor information such as vendor name, phone number, contact, etc.
  • Item master file information provides inventory status, alternate vendor, recommended vendor, substitute item, and more.

NETWORK INFORMATION SYSTEM

A flexible voice and data circuit tracking system that provides computerized database management of networks. A primary feature is its ability to evolve from an initial database of limited information to one containing full circuit detail. It is especially well suited to tracing LANs and other special circuits independent of the PBX.

This module supports the management of the physical telecommunications network including PBXs and associated nodes, frame and splice blocks, distribution and equipment cables, and wire pairs, bad pairs, and circuitry. A history file allows for archiving and analysis of adds, removes, moves and trouble reports.

User-Selected Circuit Tracking

  • Multi-level network definition allows user to quickly receive management reports based on basic information and to add information as new cabling is added or time permits.
  • Information is quickly built from the existing PBX and computer databases, and cable manuals.

Outside Plant Cable Tracking

  • Tracks outside plant cabling through manholes and splice frames

House Cable Tracking and Availability

  • Circuit information is easily accessible by DN, RJ#, LEN, TN, or Node Cable Pair.
  • PATHFINDER enables users to track general or exact cable availability from MDF to RJ.
  • Availability Reporting
    • Simple availability for a requested cable
    • Complex availability all the way from a requested cable to MDF
  • Special circuitry enables users to handle circuitry that does not go through the PBX (such as LANs, CATV, alarms, etc.).
  • Key template definition is provided for up to 99 buttons.
